Netflix uk vs lovefilm instant - content comparison

Earlier this week we finished a report comparing the quantity of content available on both Netflix UK (Instant Only) and Lovefilm Instant.

What we found particularly surprising is the small quantity of content on both of the services (especially when compared with the US Netflix Instant service) and also the low proportion of content that is available on both services.

While Netflix US have 9153 films and 4989 TV seasons available to stream, Netflix UK has just 1668 films and 925 TV seasons. And Netflix costs slightly less in the US than in the UK!

Lovefilm Instant have a larger number of films, 3284, and a smaller number of TV seasons, 589.

Of those 3284 films, only 269 are available on Netflix, and of those 589 TV seasons, only 90 are available on Netflix.
